Trackside at Silverstone: Security & Guest Welfare at The Pop-Up Hotel

For a number of years, Eame Hill International has been proud to support The Pop-Up Hotel, providing security, guest welfare and operational support within its luxury temporary hospitality environments. The Pop-Up Hotel creates premium accommodation experiences around some of the world's most recognised events, including the British Grand Prix, Monaco Grand Prix and Glastonbury Festival. At Silverstone, our role is simple in principle: help keep the site, its guests and its assets safe while complementing the premium hospitality experience around us.

At the Heart of the British Grand Prix

Operating within the British Grand Prix environment means working around one of the UK's highest-profile sporting events. In 2026, Silverstone welcomed a record-breaking 564,000 fans across the four-day British Grand Prix weekend, making it the biggest Formula 1 event ever held. Within that environment, The Pop-Up Hotel provides a very different experience. Located inside the circuit alongside the Hangar Straight, guests can combine accommodation with trackside hospitality, dining, entertainment and private viewing, all within the heart of the event. For the security operation, this means working within an environment of significant visitor numbers, VIP movements, hospitality activity and constantly changing operational requirements throughout the weekend.

Securing a Hotel Built for Race Weekend

A temporary hotel within the environment of the British Grand Prix circuit presents a unique security requirement. Our team provides security across the site, supporting access control, site and asset protection, guest welfare and incident response, while also supporting the VIPs and high-profile guests staying at and visiting the hotel. The operation extends beyond the day-to-day running of the site. Throughout the Grand Prix weekend, The Pop-Up Hotel hosts private events, evening hospitality and its Gala, alongside appearances and talks from former Formula 1 drivers and other guests. Our team supports these activities through appropriate access management, guest movements and a discreet security presence. With guests, staff, contractors, suppliers and visitors moving through the hotel, the security operation needs to remain effective while still feeling appropriate for a premium hospitality environment. That balance is important. Our team aren't there simply to stand at an entrance, they're part of the wider hotel operation and are expected to be professional, approachable and capable of responding when needed.

From Site Security to Guest Experience

The environment changes considerably throughout a Grand Prix weekend. Daytime operations bring increased guest movement and activity around the circuit, while evenings transition into hospitality, entertainment and overnight accommodation. Our deployment adapts with it. From securing the site and controlling access to supporting evening events, guest welfare and overnight operations, the objective remains the same, provide an effective security presence without unnecessarily impacting the experience The Pop-Up Hotel has created.
